Dr. Markus Donat  is co-leader of the Climate Prediction group at the BSC, and an expert in studying climate extremes and climate variability, mechanisms driving or amplifying extremes, and climate model evaluation focussing on their fidelity to simulate climate extremes. In the CONFESS project, Markus will supervise BSC’s contributions to the evaluation of improved aerosol forcing and the empirical biomass burning emissions model.
