Constantin Ardilouze has been working on seasonal predictions at CNRM since 2013. In 2019, he completed a PhD thesis focused on the impact of soil moisture on mid-latitudes summer climate predictability. He is also involved in the development of the CNRM S2S forecast system. His contribution in CONFESS will concern WP3 and WP1 which he co-leads with Andrea Alessandri. WP1 deals with the prescription of observed vegetation and land-cover data into the land surface model, as well as the evaluation of simulations thereof, and with the provision of adequate land initial conditions required to perform seasonal prediction simulations.
